Sexy sophistication was the mood for La Perla’s FW 2017 collection. So naturally, the beauty and hair looks have to embody the same sexy, smoldering, and effortless style.
Lead hairstylist Teddy Charles for Cutler/Redken Salons wanted this insouciance to be captured, so models long hair wore loose, voluminous waves that were soft with a touch of bedhead imperfection, while those with short hair had a strong emphasis on playing up the texture. Custom headpieces were created for some looks to add some mystery and fun to the look.
Erin Parsons, lead makeup artist for Maybelline was inspired by the burgundy flora that adorned the La Perla Manor set design. An homage to the shade of deep red, two beauty looks were created to exemplify gorgeous, sexy, with a touch of flirty.
Look 1 emphasized the eyes. She lines the eyes with Color Sensational Lip Liner in Plum Passion, which she blends out with Lasting Drama waterproof gel liner in Onyx to create the base of the smoky eye. A dab of Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds in Midnight Merlot is added, as well as Expert Wear Eyeshadow in Fierce Fushia. A glossy sheen of Lip Studio Shine Shot Lip Topcoat is applied, and finished off with The Colossal Big Shot Mascara just to the top lashes.
Look 2 emphasized lips, and dabs Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds in Midnight Merlot on the lips. A Q-tip with makeup remover is run along the center line of the lip to remove just a bit of color to reveal the lip’s flirty, fresh, “brightness.”
