|September marks the beginning of fashion’s new year, as this week will unveil new looks for Spring and Summer 2012. And one of the most exciting parts of September Fashion Week is Fashion Night Out!|
Fashion Night Out (FNO) is an unprecedented global initiative originally created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the industry’s economy during the recession. This year’s 3rd annual Fashion Night Out will be even hauter, bigger and better than in years past. Starting from 5-11PM, retailers in more than 100 cities across the country will join New York City in celebration by tempting shoppers with celebrity and designer appearances, special products, and musical performances. Thousands will be expected to brave the streets to shop their beloved fashion haunts and to discover new favorites. The Fashion Night Out site has a complete list open to the public.

The entire department store will be a huge party, with special events on each floor. Beauty Level: Meet Oscar de la Renta as he signs his limited-edition “Face of Fashion” fall kaleidoscope palette by Le Métier de Beauté, exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman. Meet author Eila Mell as she signs copies of the new book “New York Fashion Week.” Third Floor Designers and their canine companions hit the catwalk with host James Aguiar and guest judges Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig of Marchesa, Santiago Gonzalez, Naeem Khan, Monique Lhuillier and The BagSnob’s Tina Craig. Doors open at 6pm. Missoni for Target pop-up will open for three days at Bryant Park starting on Fashion’s Night Out, September 8.
