I was especially excited to go to Fashion Week this year because two blogger sisters of mine, Janice and Yuka, were able to come with me!  Just like shopping is best when you go with a group,  fashion shows are more fun to watch with close friends next to you.  From comparing our favorite looks,  to having someone OoOo! and Ahhh! in sync, or going press lounge-hopping,  blogger buddies are a must to make the shows that much more enjoyable!  And let’s not forget my “blogger classmates” whom I run into at every show and glam event throughout the year… you ladies know who you are 😉

Pink Tartan Spring 2012 Collection

*Pink Tartan was definitely one of my favorite Box presentations. From the moment you walked in, you are instantly transported back in time to 1960s Paris.  The theme of the collection screamed classic vintage silhouettes, big hair, and doe-eyed makeup.  The line utilized super-luxe fabrics and seam articulation that allowed everything to move freely. Ladylike, yet never prim was what designer Newport-Mimran was going for, and succeeds. According to her,”Sexy is what you don’t see.” Ahhh… Je T’aime!

Spring trend alert: pairing solids within the same color family

Tangerine makes anoter appearance in this collection.

My favorite was this textured shift dress tat glistened as the model moved.

The Brigitte Bardot-esque hairstyle and fresh-faced makeup pair perfectly with this updated shift silhouette.

Jill Stuart Spring 2012 Collection

Bright prints, bursts of tangerine and sky blue, as well as nude pink govern the Jill Stuart runway for Spring 2012. In one word- girly,  and I mean that in a good way.  All the pieces were charming, fun,  and flowy. The collection’s story brought me back to the first warm days of Spring,  where every woman is excited to wear that first flirty dress  of the season.

Farah Angsana

Farah Angsana draws inspiration for her Spring 2012 collection from the enchantment of the Orient as she instills spectacular bursts of color from Japan’s famous cherry blossoms. The designs, in summary, exemplify Eastern time-honored traditions that mix with Western modernity. The result? Subtle currents of grace and elegance that prove timeless.
