For me, the last few closing days of Fashion Week are usually the most exciting, as they tend to “save the best for last.”

Badgley Mischka Spring 2012 Collection

Hailed as one of America’s top designers, Badgley Mischka did not disappoint! The highlights from the collection featured streamlined bodices that give the perfect hourglass curves.  Among my faves were the ones accentuated with feminine peplum skirts in bold colors.

Vera Wang  Spring 2012 Collection

Vera Wang’s Spring 2012 Collection was a true exploration of tailoring and wispy transparent fabrics.  Her color palette was as light and airy as the fabrics she chose, focusing on neutrals and whites,  with swirls of watercolor splashed sporadically throughout. The duality of a feminine soft strength was apparent through her designs,  as more structured pieces were balanced by romantic draping and lightweight fabric.

Zang Toi  Spring 2012 Collection

Zang Toi’s “Dream of North Africa” came to life as a statuesque model floated down the runway and posed dramatically for the cameras.  The dream continued with commanding cloaks, rich sapphire and gold silks, as well as jewel encrusting fit for a sultan.  The surprise came at the very end,  where Kirstie Alley sashayed down the runway in Toi’s “One Thousand Nights & One Night” Sapphire Imperial coat and gown.
